Pinus sylvestris“Nothing in it but heat and steam, and a brown that goes all the way through rather than sitting on the surface.”
Heating to around 210°C in steam breaks down the sugars and hemicellulose that decay organisms feed on, and drives out the resin. The colour is a deep even brown right through the section, not a surface stain, and it weathers to silver-grey if left unfinished.
External cladding and decking, garden structures, screening and soffits; interior panelling and sauna work. Bending strength drops appreciably and the timber becomes more brittle, so it is a cladding and joinery material rather than a structural one.

Every board is cut to order, so tell us the sizes you need and we’ll price them.
Enter your sizes and we’ll price them. Every piece is cut to order, so there are no fixed pack sizes.
Prices are confirmed on your digital quote. Need random widths, waney edge or something unusual? Send your list over and we’ll price it.
The m³ shown is the exact volume of the sizes you’ve entered. Your timber is cut for the best yield from the material we hold, so the volume we supply is normally a little over that figure — your quote confirms what we’ll supply.
No minimum order value, and delivery is free across our region. We prioritise by order value, so once your order is ready most go out within two working days, and smaller orders are typically with you inside seven. Machined and cut-to-order items carry their own lead time, confirmed on your quote.
We’ll dimension, PAR or machine it to your exact list, priced into your quote.
